Puerto Río Tranquilo, one of the main towns on the Carretera Austral, is just 220 km south of Coyhaique. Its main sources of income come from tourism and livestock.
With a cold and windy climate, even in summer, the port sometimes cancels the departures of small boats.
From this point, we can also access Laguna San Rafael National Park.
